Former Judge Mike Gilb was born here in Southwest Ohio. He lived in Greenhills, Ohio and is the third oldest of seven children. Judge Gilb started out studying towards the priesthood and attended St. Francis Seminary in Mt. Healthy, Ohio. He left the seminary after meeting, Michelle, whom he later married and who has now been his wife of 34 years. They have 3 children and 3 grandchildren.After leaving the seminary, Mike graduated from Greenhills High School. He attended the University of Cincinnati earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Law Enforcement. He applied to wor for the Cincinnati Police but was encouraged to go to law school. Judge Gilb attended Ohio Northern University Law School and graduated near the top of his class. He was licensed to practice law by the Ohio Supreme Court in 1985 and practiced more than 30 years before he became a Judge. Prior to becoming Judge, Mike served three terms (six years) as a State Representative at the Statehouse in Columbus. As a legislator, Mike stood up for the principles you and I hold dear, lower taxes, less government and he fought to protect our right to life and our right to bear arms. After leaving the Statehouse Mike moved his family to Warren County. He served on Mason City Council and as a Mediator and Visiting Magistrate in Mason Municipal Court. Following the retirement of Judge James L. Flannery, Mike became a Judge in the Warren County Common Pleas Court.
