Plant Performance Manager
CurrentAs the Plant Performance Manager for Eskom Distribution, KZN Operating Unit, I am responsible for the following :• Managing the deliverables of the Plant Performance Department within the Plant Department in KZN OU Maintenance and Operations.• Managing employee performance via the Performance Management systems.• Develops the Operating Units Technical performance improvement strategies to meet the short, medium and long term targets set by Eskom and NERSA.• Ensures the operating unit compliance to technical standards, NERSA requirements and the Distribution Grid Code.• Responsible for certification and maintaining compliance to ISO standards – ISO 9001 2015, ISO 45001 and ISO 14001.• KPI Target setting and reporting to manage and improve technical performance.• Ensure accurate capturing of performance data required for the production of technical KPI’s.• Represents the Operating Unit at audits and investigations involving technical performance – SAIDI, SAIFI, MSLI & HSLI.• Conducts detailed performance analysis to identify trends of poor performance at network, CNC, Sector and Zone levels.• Initiating performance improvement programs to improve network performance to acceptable levels.• Initiating OPEX and CAPEX projects required for reliability improvement.• Provides technical input into engineering standards. Compiles Engineering Instructions and Technical Bulletins.• Reviews and provide technical input into network development plans, engineering designs for substations, overhead lines and cable networks, technical investigations and audits.• Training and mentoring of employees.
