Michael began his journey to design at the University of Georgia where he studied Art & Design. He wielded the iPad and Apple Pencil to create, limited only by his imagination. Inspired by comic art & animation, he constructed his own unique style, evolving with every piece he created; eventually leading him to begin construction of a comic universe of his own. This passion branched into the world of graphic design as stories of such magnitude are not created with illustrations alone. To make his world perfect, graphic design was a crucial skill, so he pursued the world of typography, iconography and the like, further leveling up his compositional abilities in the process, creating a multitude of graphics whilst constantly absorbing knowledge to expand his capabilities. User-Experience design and User-Interface design were terminologies that fell into Michael’s lap towards the end of his college career when he discovered he had been considering others perceptions of his works, but creating for himself. He wanted to pursue a career giving value to others. The world-building and graphic design aspects of UX informed UI design paralleled his passions and was the perfect match to his wishes to give value with his visual design and artistic skill set. So, he set out to gather even more knowledge and took Google’s UX Design course to began his official pursuit. It was an immersive learning experience that marked a pivotal chapter in his career aspirations, equipping him with invaluable skills and insights. Through the program, he dived deep into the world of user research, information architecture, prototyping, usability testing and so much more. Those hands-on lessons have empowered him to add user-centric and intuitive digital interface designing to his reservoir. The program offered more than just technical knowledge; it fostered a profound understanding of the importance of user empathy and effective communication in design. His time with Google’s program was instrumental in further shaping his perspective as a designer.The knowledge gained and the skills developed through the program and beyond, continue to guide his work, inspiring him to craft meaningful and impactful digital experiences. He never ceases his evolution as a designer and yearns for knowledge, always attempting to increase his capabilities further. When he’s not designing, he’s still designing! 10 times out of 10 he’s glued to his iPad or computer designing a character, species or environment for his comic universe! Michael shall be a designer for life.
