Partnership Commissioning Programme ManagerMedway Council Dec 2014 - Oct 2021Key responsibilities:To lead on commissioning activity for a range of services within the children and familiesportfolios across Medway Council and NHS Kent & Medway CCG.Programme area included: - Maternity services and linked clinical pathways such as tongue tie provision,- Acute and community paediatric health services including long term conditions, diabetes, ED, outpatients, community nursing, and children's therapy services- Early Help- Looked After Children (LAC)- Assisted Reproductive Technologies (IVF)- Domestic Abuse- SEND- Continence and end of life- Contract management- Voluntary sector services and relationship management This role was situated within Medway Council and required close regular interface with programme leads for specialist children's services (e.g. CAMHS, continuing care), and with Children’s Social Care to ensure alignment of commissioning and policy decisions.The role also provided the opportunity to work closely with a number of 'in house' services such as housing, social care and SEN to ensure that areas of priority are identified and service pathways integrated.Regular development and presentation of papers at CCG and Council governance meetings, and ongoing discussion and dialogue with senior leads and Elected Members throughout the course of my work.Key achievements:• Through a process of competitive dialogue, successful recommissioning of 17 service lines from four providers, into a single integrated children’s community health offer. This work improved patient experience and outcomes, whilst delivering £3m p.a. financial savings.• Working with senior leaders across Medway Council and K&M CCG, developed a system of close joint working between organisational functions.• System transformation to lead the development of new approaches to care, such as the implementation of ADHD shared care services, improved joint working processes for LAC, and an improvement in the quality of maternity services.
