Development Manager - Uvm Appliances

Provided day-to-day management and guidance of two Agile development teams of 4-6 engineers each:• Platform Operations Team: Responsible for the creation, fulfillment and update of a Windows-based security management appliance, that delivers up to seven different BeyondTrust software products to customers. Available as a physical server, VMWare/Hyper-V/Nutanix VM, or as a cloud marketplace image (AWS, Azure or Google). Built in Terraform and Ansible via an AzDo pipeline. • Appliance Software Team: Responsible for developing the web applications that manage the above-mentioned security appliance via a Microsoft-centric technology stack (Visual Studio, Azure DevOps, C#, .Net Framework/Core, MS SQL Server and Angular)Responsibilities:• Act as Product Owner for both teams. Partner in driving and evolving the roadmap for the UVM Appliance with Product Management, Chief Architect and/or CTO. Train resources outside the team on new product features, and act as a subject matter expert to the rest of the company.• Previously acted as Scrum Master for each team, prior to shifting to Product Owner. Organized and educated the team in all agile ceremonies. Later identified and empowered other team members to take on the Scrum Master role.• Provide technical oversight for both teams by creating a strong technical and architectural vision for platforms, systems, and infrastructure. Regularly participate in deep technical design discussions within the team, and across other product teams at BeyondTrust.• Help the team improve by developing internal processes, documentation and training to ensure that team members have the needed skills and tools to execute our software engineering processes and deliver on product commitments. • Triage incoming support and escalation requests, in order to efficiently pair support needs to relevant team members. Work with support and escalation teams to manage product improvements in order to reduce future support requests.
