Lead development of features for our Linux-based PowerStore storage products, coordinating the design and implementation while working with product and program management, and multiple scrum teams located around the world. Triage issues and give presentations on how to use and debug the feature in the field.Triage complex platform issues.Earlier roles included:1. Provided technical guidance to teams outside of our "software development organization" who use our products during the development cycle (QA, Hardware & Firmware engineers, LabOps).2. Wrote tools in Python, Perl, and Bash to analyze data from hundreds of internal lab systems to identify and help solve software, firmware, and hardware issues during development, using simple SQL databases (SQLAlchemy) and custom scripts to process data from various CLIs and REST APIs. Used Elasticsearch and Kibana to produce graphical representations of lab-related data.3. Worked with Product Owners and their scrum teams to improve the usability and serviceability of our products. 4. Feature lead for the platform software layer for EMC's VNX storage product. Specific responsibilities included: triage and driving resolution of issues, coordination of firmware deliveries from the EMC hardware organization, and communication of platform status to senior management. Worked closely with product and program management.Contributor to US Patent 9558297 (memory management technique).

Led the development of several software features, including flexible I/O port configuration, data-in-place array upgrades, and recovery of corrupted boot partitions.Was responsible for debugging memory corruptions, memory leaks, stack corruptions, and crash dump failures for our Windows-based (NT thru W2K8) storage product. Developed WinDbg scripts and Perl scripts to accelerate analysis.Contributor to US Patent 8555342 (secure credential storage).

Documented triage and analysis procedures for arrays with “booting problems,” and gave training presentations to developers and product support personnel.Developed an automatic crash dump analysis feature to reduce triage time for issues found during development or at customer sites (US Patent 7788537).

Wrote and maintained a WDM disk class driver in C that was responsible for the Windows OS boot partition on six generations of the EMC Midrange product line.

Member of a multi-disciplinary engineering team that developed a new scanner/printer peripheral for a lottery terminal, including an ISO magnetic card read/writer supporting thermally printable and erasable media. Wrote device drivers in C for the pSOS, QNX, and VxWorks operating systems.
