I studied at the University of Bath and after time with a large commercial practice, joined gcp to complete my professional studies. Following qualifying in late 2000, I have had the opportunity to work in a spread of building types and sectors, ranging all the way from small scale through to large scale, covering sectors of housing, commercial, leisure, community non-profit, & regeneration. Following my sustainability interests, increasingly over the last 10 years I’ve been focussed primarily on retrofit and refurbishment projects and am now a Lead Consultant for the gcp Retrofit team. I’ve been responsible for delivering a substantial number of refurbishments to low & high-rise Residential (including Higher-Risk Buildings), as well as a number of reconfiguration & extension/refurbishment of Community Centres, Adult Educational Centres and Commercial Office reconfiguration & extensions. Focused on the construction sector with an in-depth design based, commercial, and practical understanding of building design, construction and energy demand reduction and generation.
