I am a shop pipe welder. Welding process’s include Short Arc Mig root pass, cover pass with .035 or 1/16th Flux Core wire. I am able to perform this in the 6g position. Pipe sizes range from 1” to 24”. Majority of the pipes are carbon steel. I also have my Tig certification in 6g position. I am also able to weld on positioners along with free hand welding.

On the non-union side of Northern Air Systems I am the lead welder. It's a small shop with a lot of work and units to make. This shop makes heating and cooling air condensers and units for Medical and Brodcasting companys. Welding processes include a lot of MIG, and TIG on galvanized steel. This has to be one of the biggest jobs I have worked with because I am alone in what I do, thus meaning I have to do my best every time so I do not hinder the company or slow any workers down. Within this corporation I would help build multi-million dollar pressure vessels for the government, military, army, and other businesses. This company taught me a lot more different welding processes, working out of position, teamwork and my attention to detail. Within this company I received my tow motor license. Mig, Tig, Stick and Flux are the major welding process on carbon steel.

During this time at Norther Air Systems I was apart of Local 46, Sheet Metal Workers Union. I cut out "Slip and Drive's" based upon customer orders. I also put together ventilation systems; bend sheet metal, cut and pin insulation.

This company provided me with on the job welding experience and reading blueprints. I received my OSHA ten hour certification, and was certified in running a boom lift. I traveled to job sites within the Rochester area to work on erecting the building structure, places I helped construct include, Avon High School (music suite addition), Lipton Cancer treatment center and Wegmans / Ridgmont plaza (refacing all the store fronts). Mig and Stick were the major welding process used on carbon steel.
