Michael Harper's practice covered antitrust matters, complex civil and international litigation, and internal corporate investigations, with a regional focus in Latin America.On the antitrust front, Michael counseled clients on antitrust compliance, litigation, and transactional matters across a broad range of industries. His practice in Brazil is focused on advising corporate clients on the Brazilian antitrust aspects of mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and other commercial transactions. Michael has experience handling merger control filings before the Brazilian antitrust authorities as well as the Department of Justice and Federal Trade Commission in the United States.Michael also has experience working on complex global disputes as well as representing companies in Brazilian-based prosecutions. He has represented clients across multiple types of complex commercial litigation matters involving contractual disputes, business disputes, toxic torts, and class action defense. In addition, he has conducted internal corporate investigations of potential violations of FCPA, OFAC regulations, and money laundering in Brazil and throughout Latin America, as well as advised companies on FCPA, antitrust, and OFAC compliance.
