I am an experienced Process Safety Scientist with over 28 years experience in bulk chemical manufacture (3 years) and the pharmaceutical industry (25years). My current role involves devising experimental testing plans to help adequately define a basis of safety. I am a highly experienced user of many of the common process safety testing techniques such as isothermal calorimetry (RC1), adiabatic calorimetry (ARC, VSP, Phi-Tec II), thermal stability (DSC, TSU, Caruis tube), drop hammer testing (BAM fall hammer) and burning and ignition equipment to assess all aspects of a given process. I am experienced in the assessment of data and interpretation of results to define a safe process and writing detailed technical reports to summarize results to enable multidisciplinary teams make sound judgement based on my data during scale-up activities. I am an active member of HAZOP and HAZAN studies.I am effective member of global teams and am involved in the qualification of new facilities and assessing/implementing new methods of working. This has involved the coaching and mentoring of less experienced colleagues in developing facilities worldwide to ensure they work to the highest standards.I have been an elected member of the Sandwich site colleague forum and held the chair for 4 years. In this capacity I was responsible for communicating colleagues issues to company management and consulting on their behalf during times of change, this gives me vast experience in effectively communicating with people in all levels of the organisation.
