Services are normally commissioned by NHS Trusts & Local Authorities and may be accessed through GP / Social Service referral. My role is extremely diverse and involves the following:-1. Drafting / advising on commercial contracts - with commissioners or suppliers2. Company secretarial work3. Charity Law advice 4. Mental health and Community Care law advice - particularly when promoting citizenship through the correct interpretation of the Mental Capacity Act and Human Rights Act5. Advice on information governance6. Advice to senior management team on strategic risk7. Tribunal / inquest advice and support to staff and senior management team8. Drafting and advising on SLAs with partners9. Advice on housing law10. Advice on employment law. 11. Member of the mental health clinical governance group12. I was responsible for managing two teams (10 staff) who worked in commercial property law and contracts and procurement. I attended at full council, cabinet, planning, scrutiny, licensing and standards committee as legal adviser. I was also responsible for outsourcing work and managing major projects in the locality.

I was recruited as a Principal Solicitor but acted as Head of Legal services for 18 months during my time at the Council. I managed 8 legal members of staff covering property, contracts, planning, procurement, litigation and committee advice / representation. I also managed Electoral Services, Land Charges and the Licensing team. Whilst at the Council the Legal Team were Highly Commended in the national LGA Legal Team of the Year awards
