Served as the Senior Noncommissioned Officer advising the Commander on all issues and matters pertaining to the organization. Managed and directed a 651-personnel battalion that was continually prepared to deploy worldwide and conduct large scale combat operations. Responsible for the individual training, readiness, morale, health, and welfare of the Soldiers and their families. Served as the senior enlisted trainer and standard-bearer providing oversight in the execution of the EO/EEO and SHARP programs to ensure compliance and alignment with the established policies, plans and objectives. Implemented the commander’s safety program through collaboration between leaders and Soldiers, resulting in zero occupational accidents and/or mishaps throughout my tenure. Recognized as the top battalion within the brigade for safety, earning the safety streamer for three consecutive years. Conducted direct meetings with subordinate leaders and evaluated their performance, and the operational effectiveness of the organization, and provided advice and counsel to the Commander. Performed liaison functions between staff and supported soldiers, managing supply and material functions, as well as related service operations-transportation. Maintained a high state of physical fitness, scoring 300 points on every Army Physical Fitness Test(APFT) taken, earning the Army Physical Fitness Badge and an Army Achievement Medal. Earned the Army Meritorious Service Medal for outstanding service while assigned as the Battalion Command Sergeant Major of the General Support Aviation Battalion.

Attended the 42-week, 1,485 instructional hours, resident program conducting studies in the development of logical, practical, and original reasoning abilities necessary for problem solving. Analyze problems based on available information, arrive at logical solutions and decisions with reasonable speed, communicate reasoning and decisions, orally and in writing, and supervise to ensure proper execution. The Sergeants Major Course (SMC) is the capstone of the Army’s Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development System (NCOPDS) and seeks to educate Master Sergeants and Sergeants Major, to effectively assist commanders and field grade officers to accomplish their units’ missions.

Served as the Senior Enlisted Advisor to the Commander of an Aviation Maintenance Troop in support of the Squadron’s 24 AH-64D Apache helicopters. Utilized analytical and decision-making skills to reduce potential hazards when assigning personnel to conduct convoy operations; zero vehicle accidents or mishaps throughout a 36-month tenure. Applied safety laws, regulations, practices and procedures to ensure a safe work environment for 122 assigned personnel. Solid understanding of transportation of hazardous cargo, logistics and freight. Amazing ability to work independently and performing multi-tasks in a fast-paced environment. Outstanding ability to maintain confidentiality and interact with managers, candidates and all other departments at all levels.

Us Army Human Resources Command, Fort Knox, Ky

Responsible for the assignment and professional development of over 6,400 enlisted aviation Soldiers in the MOS of 15T and 15U. Provided opportunities, career counseling and managed worldwide distribution in support of Army readiness and warfighting commanders. Provided recommendations on personnel policies, regulations and changes to the Army Retention Bonus Program for enlisted Aviation matters. Prepared charts, graphs and strength reports for quarterly briefings to the Director of Enlisted Personnel Management Directorate and Aviation Proponency. Provided guidance and input for the Department of the Army promotion and selection boards. Consistently filled priority missions for Drill Sergeant, Recruiter, and AIT Platoon Sergeant positions by mentoring and challenging NCO’s to answer the calling of these demanding positions. Earned the Army Meritorious Service Medal for outstanding performance of duties.

K-16 Air Base, Seongnam, Gyeonggi, South Korea

Served as the Maintenance Platoon Sergeant in an Aviation Unit Maintenance Company (AVUM) in support of the Battalion’s 30 UH-60L and three UH-60A helicopters valued in excess of $210 million. Responsible for the health, welfare, equal opportunity, safety, morale, professional development and readiness of 11 NCO’s and 30 junior enlisted Soldiers. Coordinated the administrative actions and logistics requirements for all assigned personnel working in four different sections. Directly influenced three commendable ratings during the semi-annual Aviation Resource Management Survey (ARMS) 06/2008. Ensured completion of platoon taskings while assisting the Platoon Leader in enforcing unit organizational and safety policies and practices. Applied army and local safety laws, policies, principles and regulations during the conduct of over 1000 miles of convoy operations in the Republic of Korea with zero incidents or accidents. Emphasis on safety resulted in 330 accident-free days during tenure as the maintenance platoon sergeant. Earned the Army Commendation Medal for exceptionally outstanding service, expertise, diligence, integrity and commitment.

Us Army Aviation Logistics School, Fort Eustis, Va

Served on the Commander’s staff as the Equal Opportunity Advisor for the U.S. Army Aviation Logistics School (USAALS) consisting of over 600 cadre and 1,400 students. Planned and directed the USAALS EO/EEO and Prevention of Sexual Harassment (POSH) training programs. Ensured all requirements for EO/EEO and Sexual Harassment complaints processing were in compliance with established regulations and policies. Advised leaders and civilian management about laws, regulations, and army directives and policies to ensure all changes were articulated and fully understood. Analyzed command climate survey data and identified common problems and trends to develop preventive strategies. Utilized small group discussions to conduct studies, research, and analyses to identify systemic problems and barriers to equal opportunity and sexual harassment. Managed the development and the progress of the equal opportunity program and command climate. Advised the Commander on the pulse of the unit in regards to equal opportunity and fair treatment of all personnel. Prepared Quarterly Narrative and Statistic Reports (QNSR) for submission to the Army EO Program Manager Office. Worked closely with the installation EEO office to ensure the assigned civilian employees received mandatory EEO training. Trained over 200 NCO’s to perform as company level equal opportunity representatives for their unit commanders. Quickly identified and resolved personnel concerns when addressed in Command Climate Surveys and sensing sessions. Increased Soldier awareness and confidence in utilization of the Commander and Command Sergeant Major open door policy. Earned the Army Commendation Medal for exceptionally meritorious service while service as the USAALS Equal Opportunity Advisor.

Various Global Units

Served as a technical inspector in the quality control section ensuring more than 30 helicopter mechanics adhere to the policies and procedures as prescribed in the aircraft maintenance manuals and the unit SOP. Inspected completed aircraft maintenance for 12 UH-60A and three HH-60L helicopters valued in excess of $75 million. Assigned as a company safety officer implementing programs to reduce the frequency and cost of accidents and occupational injuries. Deployed twice to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom conducting large scale combat operations with unprecedented safety record of zero occupational accidents and zero loss of life. Modified existing Iraqi facilities, identifying potential hazards and creating workspaces and systems to control or eliminate the hazards. Recommended safety policies to commanders and higher level echelons to reduce incidents and accidents through the development of safety SOP’s. Trained over 20 safety NCOs and small unit leaders in safety and occupational health subjects to reduce the risk of accidents and injuries. Earned three Air Medals and the Meritorious Service Medal for exceptional performance.Served as the Company Standardization Instructor for an Air Ambulance Company comprised of 15 UH-60A helicopters. Responsible for the execution of the commanders enlisted Aircrew Training Program (ATP), selection and evaluation of the assigned flight instructors (FIs) and liaison with the Standardization Pilot (SP). Accumulated over 500 accident free flight hours as the SI while training and evaluating more than 10 FI’s and more than 30 helicopter crew chiefs. Incorporated safety practices and policies into the ATP to reduce the associated and inherent risk of helicopter operations. Supervised all aspects of flight training for over 50 enlisted Soldiers with zero accidents and or occupational injuries. ATP subject matter expert, sought out by senior leaders for advice and recommendations on multiple occasions.
