SHARE Military Initiative at Shepherd Center is a comprehensive rehabilitation program that focuses on assessment and treatment for service men and women who have sustained a mild to moderate traumatic brain injury, along with co-occurring PTSD or other mental health concerns (such as depression or anxiety), from service in post-9/11 conflicts.SHARE Military Initiative provides assistance, support, and education to service members and their families during their recovery treatment and beyond.For more information about the SHARE admissions process, click here. * Recruiting – Recruit, assemble, and train a team of Eagles to support the work of the Veteran Engagement Shop.* Leadership – Remove roadblocks for volunteer leaders, mentor volunteer leaders, instruction/teachingAttend at least one leadership meeting each month (in person preferred) to review and discuss chapter activities. Regular check-ins with Coordinators regarding fulfillment in current role* Establishing key relationships – Establish and maintain value-added partnerships with a variety of veteran resources. Document master chapter file for local supporters & engagement contacts Example of local supporters; VA Medical Centers, Vet Centers, Community Based Outpatient Clinics, Warrior Transition Units (WTU), Military installations, National Guard and/or Reserve units , Student Veteran Associations (SVA) or Student Veteran Organizations (SVO), Non-profit/service partners that support veterans such as Team Rubicon, The Mission Continues, Wounded Warrior Project, Hire Heroes USA, Hiring our Heroes* Eagle Engagement - Engage with Veterans in one-on-one or small group settings that allow a veteran to experience physical, social, and community activities without necessarily having to participate with a large group. Video Document . Keep an active list of veterans requiring additional support and/or referred Veterans. Work closely with the Chapter Captain to ensure that all referred veterans receive consistent communication and are included in chapter activities. Work with Communications Director to:Compile vignettes and testimonials that tell the Team RWB storyCreate social media content to target the local veteran population Tell the chapter’s story and capture impact Work closely with Chapter Captain for general guidanceTrack attendance for Eagle Engagements and other events and report to CC for the Monthly Report.Work with other Directors to seek support and participation for large scale Engagement events.

Coordinated and supervised dives in support wounded heroes in our armed forces, providing unique adjunctive therapy to compliment current rehabilitation and reintegration programs. Challenged participants with an experience outside their comfort zones, allowing them to encounter enormous animals and relax and move in the water in ways they may not be able to on land.

Served as the Army’s ambassador within the community, implementing and conducting Army Awareness Programs throughout an area covering 3,000 square miles, serving a population of over 150,000. Maintained a network of influencers to include parents, educators, community leaders, and administrators in 12 high schools and 2 colleges in the region.
