The main objective of this role is to perform duties as required by Wisconsin State Statute 83.01. Some of my major responsibilities while in this role include the following.Set and administer an annual budget of about $7.5M. Work with the Highway Committee and County Board to strategize and set policy. Developed and administer 30-year pavement management plan for all county highways. Negotiate and manage annual maintenance contract with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation for maintaining state highways in Burnett County. Provide technical advice to local municipalities for the maintenance and improvement of their infrastructure. Plan for and facilitate the maintenance and improvement work on county, municipal, and other governmental agencies' infrastructure. Oversee fleet management for the departments' fleet of equipment and make decisions on the purchasing and sales of such equipment. Planning, design, permitting, and general coordination on various infrastructure improvement projects. Work with various engineering consultants on the design of major roadway and bridge improvement projects. Collaborate with officials from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation on certain maintenance and improvement needs within the county. Serve as the County Traffic Safety Coordinator and facilitate all committee meetings. Show less
