Worked on the development of a flat panel, thin-film-transistor (TFT), selenium based X-Ray imager for general radiographic and full-field digital mammography (FFDM) examinations. The development included the material science, design of electronics, development of interface and concept of operations, cost reduction, customer support, and feature enhancement. Developed a prototype automatic exposure exposure system to control the patient X-Ray dose and a 'bucky' motor controller used to reduce X-ray scatter.The result was a system that revolutionized radiographic imaging, pioneering the field of direct conversion radiography (as opposed to utilizing phosphor to convert X-ray to light). Through a series of acquisitions, Sterling Diagnostic Imaging (DuPont spin-off) became Direct Radiography Corp. which was then purchased by Hologic.

Designed and built control systems for the Advanced Photon Source that were used for the operation of remote equipment and a machine protection interface to automatically trigger equipment safeguards. Designed, built and operated a high speed CCD camera system (100 fps) to be used in time resolved synchrotron radiation experiments.
