I am currently a passionate member of the energy industry with a background in finance, operational strategy, and renewable energy resource assessment. My number one passion is building effective teams and challenging current business norms to ensure the enterprise is always improving.I graduated from Longwood University in 2010 with a BS in Accounting. I immediately went to work for the Dept. of the Navy (DoN) where I held a variety of roles mainly in the Accounting field. The most rewarding projects I worked on were helping to implement SAP at the Office of Naval Research and supporting numerous Navy branches with financial audit readiness projects. After 6 rewarding years working for the DoN I decided to enter the energy by taking a job at NextEra Energy in their renewable energy greenfield development department. In my two years in this role I focused on cutting unnecessary costs while improving efficiency for the company's resource assessment measurement device fleet of 1,400+ active devices. My next role at NextEra was as a manager in the corporate FP&A department where I oversaw budgets for 8+ departments. The larger sub organizations I supported were human resources, company benefit programs, Florida Power & Light (FPL) renewable development, integrated supply chain, and corporate real estate. The biggest project I worked on here was working on FPL's 2020 rate case. This provided great insight into how regulatory policy is handled at the state level.After ~3 years I decided to take a job with the NextEra Analytics department to help launch the new SaaS product NE360 which helps customers better understand and reduce their carbon footprint. I manage the field operations team and our primary focus to facilitate data capture for the customer. I have experience with metering hardware across numerous utilities, coordinating installations, and responding to customer RFP's. This role has been a rewarding experience to enhance my commercial skillset while also being being a part of the growing "smart" energy business.
