CPDE is a professional association of forensic economists that provide damage estimates in litigation contexts. CPDE has joined with AREA (American Rehabilitation Economics Association) and is assisting AREA in its publication of the academic journal "The Earnings Analyst" (TEA). O'Hara was the CPDE appointed Co-Editor of TEA for volumes 13, 14, & 15; Bob Male is the AREA appointed Editor of TEA. CPDE Secretary 2009 - 2014. Other offices 2015, 2016, and 2018. Started again as Secretary in March 2018.

ARBO facilitates Canadian and USA jurisdictions (e.g., province, State) licensure of optometrists; as well as Australian and New Zealand optometrists. Additional service by O'Hara to ARBO included serving on its OE Tracker Committee and COPE Committe and as a COPE Reviewer. OE Tracker is a web-based tracking of continuing education (CE) compliance by optometrists. The Council on Optometric Professional Eduction accredits CE providers as providing high quality CE free from commercial bias. Member of Board of Directors 2012 - 2016.
