The depth of knowledge Michael brought to MJP Associates, ltd originated with "hands on" experience in steel fabrication, general construction, and consulting engineering. He entered the construction industry in 1971. During the 1980's, as a principal in a family owned regional steel fabrication and general construction company, he managed all structural engineering and project costing for the company. This assignment included both internal & external project management and engineering design of structural framing and foundation systems for not only steel framed structures, but also structures framed with wood, concrete and masonry.After working for the family business he started a consulting practice in Greeley, Colorado in 1986. In 1989 he went to work as a senior project manager for a structural consulting company in White Bear Lake, MN. In 1993 He started MJP Associates, ltd., a structural consultancy, which is where he finished his engineering career.
