  • 10Th Mountain Division, United States Army
    Manging Director Of Information Collection
10Th Mountain Division, United States Army Jun 2020 - Jun 2022
    Fort Johnson
As the Commander of a 431 Soldier Reconnaissance Squadron, my primary responsibility was to ensure that my troops are well-prepared and capable of deploying quickly into challenging conditions. We were an early entry force, tasked with conducting reconnaissance and security operations to identify and assess potential threats. It was crucial that I fostered a positive command climate that prioritized the well-being of my Soldiers and their families. In order to achieve our mission, I was dedicated to developing and maintaining an effective command maintenance program. This included ensuring the proper accountability of all assigned equipment. Additionally, I committed to cultivating subordinate leaders who were not only tactically and technically proficient, but also possessed strong ethical values and the ability to adapt to changing circumstances. By doing so, they were well-prepared to assume greater responsibilities and authority when necessary. Ultimately, my objective was to find and understand the enemy before anyone else, and then share this knowledge with our Brigade Combat Team. This enabled the Brigade Combat Team to engage in combat with maximum effectiveness and lethality. With a strong focus on training, readiness, and effective leadership, we achieved success in training and real-world missions.

As the Director of Operations for the Mission Command Training Program, my role entailed overseeing the Army Chief of Staff's prestigious program for training wartime staffs. This program was designed to train Commanders and their staffs at various levels, ranging from brigades to divisions, corps, and even the Army itself. Through a combination of seminars and simulation-based exercises, we ensured that these leaders were well-prepared for their roles. One of my key responsibilities was to schedule and coordinate a significant number of exercises each year. This included up to six Army level exercises, ten division/corps level exercises, twenty BCT level exercises, and thirty-six functional or multifunctional brigade exercises. It was crucial that these exercises were properly synchronized with U.S. Army Forces Command. In addition to exercise coordination, I also oversaw the MCTP Senior Mentor Program, ensuring that scheduling was effectively managed. This program relies on external resources and enablers, in which I was responsible for determining and coordinating. I also supervised the important task of managing a $40 million support contract, providing contract officer oversight. Lastly, I directly and supervised a team of eleven officers, non-commissioned officers, and Department of the Army civilians who were assigned to the operations section. Their dedication and expertise contribute greatly to the success of our program.

These efforts were in full support of the Chief of Operations Group and in collaboration with the esteemed Chief Observer, Coach, Trainers (CHOTS) within OG-B.
