I'm the technical lead for Project Elk - an ambitious project to implement 30 clients and over a million coverages onto Empyrean's platform in under a year. I've developed software to convert these groups' employees into our system, to import data ongoing, to export payroll data, and to export vendor files in both flat and 834 formats. In addition, I have led efforts to automate ongoing processes and develop a sprint cycle to deliver releases to clients in an expected and timely manner.

As a team lead for small market groups, I led a group of entry-level and mid-level business systems analysts. In coordination with the business systems manager for the pod, I developed a sprint cycle using techniques from scrum. This effort started as a pilot with just our pod and has been adopted by the remainder of the organization since due to increased efficiency, transparency and priority management. In the scrum-master role, I groomed the tickets that would be worked by the team in each two-week sprint cycle and coordinated with the client managers to determine priority among more than 50 clients.During and before this team lead role, I also worked directly on the client's software and requirements. My top responsibility on these clients was creating the software to import the employees, their benefits, dependents and beneficiaries into our system. I was the primary source for more than 10 clients, each with unique characteristics and complexities. This software is mainly written in python, sometimes .NET and occasionally using SSIS.I was also the technical contact for many clients advising their HR managers on risks associated with new projects, fixes they were hoping to implement, and root causes analysis of ongoing issues in addition to updating the technical documentation to ensure the client's needs are validated.

I was aligned to mid and large market clients to ensure that their technical specifications were accurate and that the system matched these specs. Primarily, I would develop the business logic using Empyrean's proprietary software in addition to Python, SQL, SSIS and Crystal Reports. In addition, I oversaw the automation of ongoing processes and addressed failures and errors in production.
