Dr. Michael J. Jackson is an applied limnologist with extensive expertise in aquatic ecology and a particular interest in aquatic invertebrate communities. He has worked on a number of major research projects, including studies into the effects of toxic contaminants in antifouling paints and the importance of macrophyte structural complexity in aquatic predator-prey interactions. Since moving to British Columbia he has worked primarily on environmentally-sustainable mosquito management and has developed one of the most sophisticated integrated mosquito management programs in North America called IMMPACT®. Culex Environmental employs the IMMPACT® program across Canada in British Columbia, Alberta and Ontario. Culex also undertakes extensive R&D studies in Canada and Costa Rica.Michael is the author of many published papers and technical reports and he gives regular presentations to government bodies, corporate clients, university graduates, natural history societies and practical workshops
