Research involved experimental and computational investigation of heterogeneous interfaces using Soft-Xray Synchrotron, Liquid-Jet Ambient Pressure X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy and Classical Molecular Dynamics simulations. Motivation was to evaluate the physical behavior of highly dynamical regions when near equilibrium. This includes molecular and atomic concentration gradients, surface dipole formation and orientation dependence on depth and molecular composition, and band bending due to static charge accumulation.
