I am a Technical and Production Manager with a Mining Engineering Degree, Masters in Mechanical Engineering Science and +20 years on complex engineering and construction projects, pre-feasibility and feasibility studies, and production operations within the coal mining, civil infrastructure, and LPG storage sectors.     Mt Pleasant was designed as a 6km long 2 x 8750 dragline operation by Rio Tinto, and Thiess was invited to โ€œreimagineโ€ the operation from the boreholes and extraction limits onwards. The mine was reconfigured into an intensive terrace design that delivered a large increase in NPV, and reduced impact on the local town of Muswellbrook. The equipment profile was 2 x 996 wheel loaders, 2 x 350t excavators and 24 Cat793 trucks. The operation is notable for positive community feedback relative to the surrounding operations. Mach Energy acquired the operation in 2016.
