As Programme Manager for the capital investment programme for existing homes my role is to embed a long-term strategic change in investment approach that promotes a holistic whole house retrofit approach across larger housing developments offering area-based regeneration opportunities. My role also involves longer term planning around core investment streams over the next ten years to meet statutory compliance and net zero carbon. This new investment approach will also embed longer term building improvements and ultimately align energy retrofit and asset management to ensure poor performance is designed out and homes are modern and fit for purpose providing affordability, warmth and comfort to tenants.

As a Senior Housing Development Officer my role was focussed on developing and implementing strategic change to embed an ambitious housing sustainability programme across existing housing services and to inform future capital investment decisions. Ensuring alignment with the Council’s 2030 net zero carbon target. Supporting the delivery of the Council’s Housing Strategy, Capital Investment Programme, and long-term proactive approach to asset management that delivers value for money for both tenants and the Council.

As a Senior Sustainable Development Officer I was part of a wider team responsible for delivering the City of Edinburgh Council's sustainable development objectives. This aimed to create a smart, resource efficient and energy resilient economy in Edinburgh in order to deliver a transformation in energy generation, transmission and use, as well as a range of economic, social and environmental benefits.

As Energy and Low Carbon Officer within the Sustainable Economy team my role was centred around the development of the low carbon economy within the City of Edinburgh Council's 'Strategy for Jobs'. With the aim to create a more sustainable, resilient, resource efficient and smart city, and to ensure that the transition towards a low carbon economy aligned with the Council’s Economic Strategy in terms of creating new jobs, skills and investment.
