Hey there, welcome to my LinkedIn profile! The name's Michael Kirkham, and I'm not your typical professional. I actually started out as a professional gamer, believe it or not. I created my very own esports league, sold it off, and used the funds to dive headfirst into the world of scripting and video game cheating. Now, before you judge, hear me out! I helped change the world of video game cheating by assisting in setting a positive precedent, albeit legally. It was a wild ride, taking an unethical opportunity and turning it into something that helped shape the industry as a whole. Looking back, I wouldn't change what happened because it played a crucial role in shaping the person I am today. After my adventures in gaming, and during my time with Impulse software and it's subsidiaries, I took on the role of a marketing manager at Grooveshark, where I led a team that worked on an early online advertising implementation, a key project called Beluga with some nifty analytics and monetization features. It was a thrilling experience, but ethical concerns led me to part ways with Grooveshark and Impulse. I took a detour and worked at Home Depot while tinkering with micro niche websites on the side during a time when Google's algorithm allowed it. Turns out, those websites would become the foundation in creating a small web agency called QPA or Quality Projects Agency (QPA.co). I dabbled in web development and marketing skilled labor upselling, which handled clients who needed programming and marketing-based projects and websites. Eventually, I sold the company because I realized that returning to school was one of the most important and crucial things I needed to do for my own personal growth.I have always had a massive passion for the internet and video dating back to when I was a child. During my college years, and even today, I harnessed my marketing prowess to manage brands, develop products, and build successful YouTube and TikTok channels for various creators and brands. It was a whirlwind experience that allowed me to combine my love for content creation and storytelling with my other passion, marketing. But you know what? I'm not done yet. Now, I'm on a quest to pursue my passion into the exciting world of software development, which was one of my original passions in life. So, if you're up for a wild and unpredictable journey, experiencing my failures and embracing some victories, then tag along for the ride, and let's find personal and professional growth vicariously, together.
