Prepare patients for surgery including processing and updating their history and physical.....obtain vital signs...process and updating the patient's medication list....starting an IV....medicating them for their surgery.....also recover and discharge patients after their surgery.

Assess, treat and evaluate patients ranging from pediatric to the elderly, medical to psychiatric needs. Skills include medicating and educating patients on medications, starting IV's and monitoring intake and output of fluids, monitoring hemodynamics of the patient through cardiac monitoring and vital signs. Fluent in electronic charting. Up to date on all certifications needed to work in an emergency room setting.

Responsibilities include assessing, treating and evaluating the emergency room patient ranging from minor needs such as cuts and bruises to traumatic arrest or suicide attempt. Patients range from infancy to the elderly, obstetrical patients to the psychiatric or abused patient. Skills include performing IV's, fluid administration and recording of intake and output, medication administration, prepping patients for tests, maintaining safety of the patient through the use of side rails or a 1:1 observator. Documentation and recording of events are expected and well maintained.

Assess, treat and evaluate critical patients that may need ventilator support. Skills include monitoring and maintaining the life of the critical patient through the use of central lines, arterial lines, cordis lines, Swan-Ganz care and measuring cardiac output through the use of injection, foley and PEG tube/NGT care, endotracheal tube care and suctioning, monitoring the ventilator and it's settings for the patient, skin and wound care including turning and positioning of the patient, administering medications through IV drips and titration if needed to maintain hemodynamics stability.

To assess, treat and evaluate patients in an medical-surgical setting on the patient floor. Skills include treating and caring for up to 18 patients with various medical and/ surgical needs. Medicating, educating, monitoring intake and output, cleaning and positioning the patient, maintaining safety, charting progress, and providing physical and emotional support are some of the jobs performed by me.
