As an independent Kinesiologist, physical assessments were performed to help determine client needs and to see how their current physical needs could be aligned with their goals. Specific rehabilitative or strength and conditioning programs were developed to best assist the client in reaching their physical/functional goals. Under the direction and guidance of a Service Canada Centre (SCC) Director or delegate, the Youth Services Officer (YSO): assists in the planning, implementation and operation of the Service Canada Centres for Youth (SCCY). This work includes: responding to career-related enquiries; offering information on programs and services for youth; providing personal assistance with job searches, career exploration, résumé preparation and labour market information; and providing employment-related support to local employers, including job posting services.A community outreach component to this position includes the periodic provision of workshops designed to assist students and/or youth; assists in the planning, organizing and implementation of communications and other public information strategies and activities to help ensure the effective delivery of services of the SCCY.Other components of the position involve the collection of data and provision of quantitative and qualitative analysis, comments and suggestions on SCCY activities.The Lead Youth Services Officer (LYSO), in addition to the duties described in the YSO job description, may be responsible for any or all of: providing training and/or guidance of YSO staff; organizing day-to-day activities of the SCCY; and liaising with SCC management and other personnel on behalf of the SCCY.For more information about Service Canada Centres for Youth, please visit www.servicecanada.ca/sccy
