Currently employed within the Teaching and Learning Academy @ Cardiff University's Curriculum Development Team as the e-Assessment Officer. My aim is to support the planning and coordination of institution-wide activities to increase e-assessment and to enhance the student experience of assessment and feedback, through the use of digital tools and specialist e-assessment software. In a previous life, I earned my trade teaching in secondary school, where I was able to experience and develop hand on teaching methods as well as my pedagogical knowledge of effective teaching and learning. Accompanied by my keen interest in digital technology, I naturally sought opportunities to enhance both my teaching and the learning experience of my learners by incorporating digital technology. Taking this newfound interest in the collaboration between education and digital technology, I have most recently worked for Big Learning Company as a Digital Learning Assessor delivering the ‘Digital Learning Design’ course to teachers and learning and development practitioners across South Wales. Supporting their professional development in utilising, creating and delivering high-quality education resources backed with the understanding of effective teaching techniques and pedagogy.
