Dr Lee trained as a medical oncologist through the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP), and his interest in pancreatic genomic research stemmed from his fellowship at the BC Cancer, Vancouver, working on whole genome sequencing of advanced solid tumours, in particular, in metastatic pancreatic cancer. He undertook a PhD to bridge the knowledge gap between wet lab scientists and bioinformaticians in driving effective translational research in developing novel therapies that he desperately needs for his patients with pancreatic cancer. He is honoured to have received support from the University of Melbourne Clinical Pathology Scholarship, RACP Research Entry Scholarship and Pancare Foundation grant for his ongoing PhD research. He is the inaugural recipient of Paul Dear Post Doctoral Researcher Scholarship for his work beyond his PhD.Clinically, he sub-specialises in patients with neuroendocrine and upper GI cancers at the Peter Mac and contributes toward the molecular tumour board both at the VCCC and MPCCC. Under his private practice "Can-Therapy" his motto is to deliver CANcer Therapy to empower lives, guided by precision medicine to rethink cancer care with a CAN do attitude: We can't change the fact you've got cancer but we can enable you to live well with cancer.
