Mike leads the Employee Benefits side of the Ironwood (MMA) Private Equity Practice, performing Employee Benefits Due Diligence for Private Equity transactions.

Mike currently works for the USI Private Equity Practice, (formerly Wells Fargo Insurance Services) providing M&A Employee Benefits Due Diligence on PE transactions. The Due Diligence analysis typically includes: the identification of potential liabilities in target company EB plans; ensurance of compliance with state and federal mandates (including healthcare reform); identifying proper pricing and plan contribution methodology; claim underwriting and IBNR analysis; recommendations to the Purchase and Sale Agreement; etc. Post closing, Mike works closely with the EB service teams to facilitate a smooth transition upon receipt of the post-close BOR designation.In addition to his role as the lead EB person on all projects that come through the practice, Mike has also been responsible for the management of all project managers (EB & P&C) and service staff in the Private Equity Practice at Wells Fargo.

Responsible for servicing a book of business, inclusive of 11 accounts, generating approximately $750,000 in annual revenue. Clients ranging in size from 75 to 3,000 lives. Well versed in all funding arrangements.Lead consultant on all M&A Due Diligence matters for the firm. Developed reporting structure and final analysis for Private Equity firms

Managed a team of five Account Managers and two clerical staff, inclusive of 75 accounts, generating approximately $3.5 million in annual revenue. Clients ranging in size from 10 to 15,000 lives.

Responsible for servicing a book of business, inclusive of 8 accounts, generating approximately $1,000,000 in annual revenue.
