Working as a food and beverage attendant at The Arts Centre Melbourne I was part of the team who worked behind the bars in the foyers of the theatre. My job role consisted of providing friendly and excellent customer service to upwards of 2000 guests in an evening. I practiced responsible service of alcohol and well as safe food handling practices. As well as alcohol I have some barista training training as well which is beneficial to the position. Some other roles in the job were: Cash Handling, Stocktake and stock ordering.

I was working with many key stakeholders as well as valued clients, making sure their needs were met, such as organising accommodation at hotels and managing their itineraries, including booking flights with Qantas Group Bookings and shuttle bus travel from the airport to the correct hotel. I also was operating the help desk during events. Guiding the event guests in between buildings for different functions, making sure everyone was in the right place for each event to start.

Working as a contracted receptionist/concierge helped me develop skills that would be beneficial to a front of staff position. I was in charge of greeting every client that walked into the office so I needed to be charming and polite and know exactly what they were there for and what they needed. I made tea and coffee for all clients and staff, memorising their specific orders. I was in charge of catering lunches everyday and needed to pick up and disburse it throughout the office. While doing my administrational duties, I also kept the office tidy, cleaning the kitchen which included washing dishes and restocking.
