I joined Nomura as an early stage member of the start-up US research operations. I was a key contributor to the launch of the US Telecom Services and Cable & Satellite research coverage. I am currently responsible for daily team logistics, weekly workflow and strategic direction. Specifically, I build and maintain company and industry models, write the research product, and regularly dialogue with clients. In addition, I help to guide the broader Nomura TMT sector strategy on key issues such as video content costs, wireless ARPU trends, and video cord cutting. On a daily basis I interact with company management teams and attend industry conferences

At Millennium I performed fundamental analysis for a media, telecom and technology specific hedge fund team. My primary focus was the advertising, entertainment, telecom and cable & satellite sectors. On a daily basis I would advise our portfolio manager on industry developments, as well as the expected impact on the team’s investments and trading strategies. On a regularly basis I presented and debated investment ideas with team members, and frequently interacted with company management teams.

At Goldman Sachs I was a member of a sell side research team, covering the media and telecom sectors. Over a five-year period I helped to initiate coverage on over 20 companies, and had experience covering the cable, broadcasting, outdoor advertising, live entertainment and video games sectors. My primary responsibilities were to build and maintain company and industry models, as well as write our team’s research reports. In addition, I was active in training new employees and mentoring interns.

As a staff consultant at E&Y I helped to transitioned the State of Florida employee pension plan from a defined benefit to defined contribution plan. In addition, I supported a team that represented clients who had engaged in structured transactions that were under review by the IRS. I was also selected for an advanced training program to research and summarize solutions to complicated M&A tax questions.
