    I work in the Institute for Clinical & Experimental Pathology at ARUP Laboratories. ARUP Laboratories is a medical reference lab, which means that it does diagnostic testing of human biological samples. ARUP specialises in esoteric testing, which means that our sphere of expertise is in the more difficult and complex tests.My responsibilities are to continually seek ways to improve assays run at ARUP, as well as develop new assays at ARUP. Technology continually improves, and new markers of disease are discovered, so research and development is an integral part of maintaining a healthy productive laboratory.My expertise is broad, and touches on molecular methods, and cellular assays. Specifically, I have experience with the molecular methods of PCR, genotyping, DNA melting and fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH). Cellular methods include flow cytometry, and I have worked with both BD and Beckman platforms.
