Armed Protection Officer
CurrentResponsible for the physical and personal security for members, staff, and visitors within the health care client facilities. This includes responding to emergency situations, preserving order, and enforcing regulations related to personnel, visitors, and premises. Protects staff and property from theft or damage, or persons from hazards and interference, including the potential for violence in the workplace. The APO will partner with security and clinical leaders to establish a unified care team to identify and mitigate security and workplace violence risks.* Respond to crimes in progress and take appropriate action on the exterior of the healthcare facility* Make private person arrests when necessary and within policy* Respond into healthcare facility interior for Code Gray responses* Lead de-escalation efforts* Provide a professional security presence* Act as a safety ambassador for the facility* Provide campus safety recommendations* Liaison with administrative and clinical leadership* Establish and maintain a good working relationship with local law enforcement* Serve as the facility subject matter expert on the Prevention of Workplace Violence* Respond to violent incidents of workplace violence* Stay current on training and trends in the PWV field* Lead and support threat management investigations* Mitigate potential threats through collaboration with key stakeholders and the Threat Management Team
