My passion is simple: I get excited helping my colleagues get excited about their work. That's why I’m grateful that, throughout my career journey, I’ve been able to focus on employee, internal, and executive communications. I started my career after graduate school as a proofreader for a small insurance company, Executive Risk; this position evolved into a communications manager role, where I first fell in love with employee communications. I then joined The Cigna Group, where — over the course of 23+ years — I served in roles of increasing scope and responsibility, most recently serving as a Business Communications Senior Director. During my time there, I led our Employee Communications team and function for several years, including through the COVID-19 pandemic, and directly supported several C-level executives and their organizations (HR, Technology, Legal, Finance, Operations, and others) with their communications. I also led or supported a wide variety of other communications and related functions, including crisis communications, mergers and acquisitions communications, strategic communications planning, event management (primarily employee town halls and senior leadership meetings), and change management. I also served as team lead for our community programs and strategy function on an interim basis. I've been fortunate to have led teams with as many as 25 professionals, and serve as a champion and servant leader for my team members.I'm passionate about informing, inspiring, and engaging my coworkers around the company’s mission and business strategy, and creating a positive, inclusive culture where people can be their authentic selves and thrive. I enjoy achieving this through collaborating with my team members, colleagues, and clients.Outside of work, I'm an active leader in our local running community. I'm founder and president of the CT Trailmixers, one of Connecticut's largest and most active running clubs, and have completed more than 125 marathons and ultramarathons (and counting!). I've also served as a volunteer guide for Achilles International, an organization that provides athletes with different abilities the opportunity to compete in races up to and including the marathon.
