I am an athletic trainer in the industrial setting. I evaluate employees aches and pains, providing intervention with manual therapies, stretching, self-care, or proper PPE. Assess work-sites looking at body mechanics and tools each employee is using. Work with EHS to look at jobs that may have lead to sprains, strains, and inflammation recordable.

I worked in the Industrial Athlete program of IRG. I worked with Waste Management as an athletic trainer. I provide stretches, ergonomic assessments, health tips, injury evaluation, and rehabilitation. I also cover weekend tournaments for various sports such as: soccer, lacrosse, rugby, and volleyball. I was the athletic trainer for Stanwood High School.

During the absence of a teacher I would guide students through their daily work that was left for them by their teacher. I was responsible for 30-40 students per period, making sure each one was engaged in the current activity. I did my best to help students with any questions they had about the topic.

Oregon State University Wrestling

During this year I observed over wrestling practices, rehabilitations, and competitions. I performed injury evaluations on the student athletes and followed up with rehabilitation and treatment for each individual student athlete. At Dixon I worked under Guido Van Ryssegem. I performed rehabilitation and neural gliding with his patients. During my term with Guido I learned proper techniques of lifting and what to look for to prevent injury.

Corvallis High School

I performed injury evaluations of injured athletes and guided them through their rehabilitations. I watched over practice and games for men’s and women’s basketball, wrestling, baseball, softball, and track. I provided treatment for athletes before games and practices to help manage pain during play.

Western Oregon University

I conducted injury evaluations of athletes and provided them with treatment and rehab for their injuries. I prepared for practices and games by setting up the field/court, taping athletes, providing treatment. Wrote out injury evaluations I performed on my own or with the Head Athletic Trainer.
