Recently, I graduated from Rowan-Cabarrus Community College with an associate degree in Electronic Engineering Technology. The classes I undertook were E.G. Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Digital Circuitry analysis, and C++ Programming—all of which helped fill in the gaps that my previous work experiences have not. In addition to the technical knowledge I gained, I also gained leadership experience through working with the Student Government Association, Student Leadership Development Program, and the RC3 Electronics Club. The Student Leadership Development Program is a state wide program that only selects 30 students out of the 930,000+ college students in the state. We went through multiple conferences, workshops, and panels to learn leadership skills including how to deal with disabled individuals as well as large and small groups. In the RC3 Club I acted as officer for the entire time of my membership, but my crowning achievement was becoming president for three terms. In the Student Government Association I was the Ambassador for the Electronics Club which involved securing funding, submitting plans for club outings, and helping the club recruit and grow through school events.
