I was successful in being promoted to service desk supervisor at Phoenix in July 2013. My new responsibilities include monitoring and managing the service helpdesk for calls that had breached SLA's, general errors and also to make sure the service desk is manned. My role also involves chasing 3rd party's and agents that have not resolved tickets in a timely manner. To assist me with this role I successfully studied and passed the ITIL V3 exam. Also my current role involved me recruiting and line managing a team of 3 IT Support Analyst. I have also taking up the responsibility of the EDI system at Phoenix where I have to liaise with trading partners of Phoenix and setup relationships so EDI ordering can take place.

My main responsibilities as a IT Support Anaylst at Phoenix included providing day to day IT support for users throughout the business. This involved installing and troubleshooting technical problems with PC's (Windows 7), Laptops, Printers, Thin Clients as well as providing support on the emails, phone and fax systems. My role also included supporting the UNIX based warehouse distribution system and writing shell scripts to improve performance.

I spent 3 and a half years working within a team of ICT Technicians at Gateacre CC School. During this time I seen the network grow to around 1500 devices onsite, including PCs, laptops, along with 13 HP blade servers. Whilst at Gateacre I was introduced a number of automated systems which have helped the department become more efficient. These systems include the online helpdesk, online room booking system and E-Safety systems. At Gateacre I support students and staff whilst managing the following systems, Daily Backups, Anti Virus, Learning Platform, E-Safety, VPN, Microsoft Exchange, Printing and have experience with SIMS and MySQL.

I inputted company data in spreadsheets (MS Excel); the company data consisted of supplier details, deliveries and employee’s working hours. I worked at the company part time as I was studying my degree, as a result of this I also worked on the warehouse floor, where my job consist of order picking and label issuing.

This was my one year work placement as part of my University course; at Widnes and Runcorn College my job was Media Technician and Demonstrator. My main duties included, booking out/checking equipment, assisting media teachers and demonstrating to students. I worked within a team of teachers and technicians to produce the best results for the students at the College.
