Two concepts motivate my approach to work: 1) Work should be enjoyable. 2) People matter. One should enjoy what they do, where they do it, and the time they spend collaborating with others to get things done. Work should be stimulating by providing an opportunity to learn new skills and apply those skills to problem solving. Work should not be about ego...it is a unique opportunity to share knowledge with others to help them be the best version of themselves possible. These qualities make work/life "balance" a non-issue, as work can and should become an integral and enjoyable part of life rather than some separate inconvenience needing to be "balanced."I am embarking on a new career path--striking out on my own from the natural beauty of Kauai (enjoy where you do it) to seek out meaningful and rewarding business relationships where I can provide value in the areas of software development, data analysis, and other computer-based services. I am seeking out interactions with like-minded people and organizations valuing the concept of lifelong learning. To me, what you know is only part of what is important. What is crucial is whether you are willing and able to learn more as necessary.
