Responsible for tax collection and tax enforcement work of routine difficulty including learning to interpret and enforce tax laws, rules, and regulations through a prescribed set of collection and enforcement procedures. Specialized training includes: Defensive Tactics, Firearms, and Active Shooter Response.

I was an intern for the Drug Court in the Spring of 2012. I worked with the Probation Office meeting with our Drug Court participants, addressing issues, and keeping their files up to date under the supervision of a Probation Officer. I also attended weekly drug court proceedings and played a role as a drug court team member which is a panel of professionals who make decisions that are key to the function of drug court and the way we handle the participans as far as teaching, coaching, and mentoring them on their transition to a life of sobriety.

I studied in the Law, Justice, and Society program. LJS is a pre-law type program that blends general education requirements with an immersion into the legal field. I became proficient with Lexis Nexis, the professional legal database. I also worked with the State of Tennessee Criminal Justice Portal. I also traveled to Europe for study into their legal system and visited the International Court of Justice and the Center for Social Justice to name a few.
