Direct Milk DPO represents 650 farmers, selling 1.2bn litres/p.a. of milk to Muller Milk & Ingredients. Direct Milk formed through the Muller purchase of Dairy Crest's Dairies business, (formerly DCD) from 27th December 2015. Direct Milk's objectives are to build stronger links within our supply chains and to deliver greater sustainability; representing members as a whole, within defined groups and as individuals. To support and co operate within the wider industry and to integrate social, environmental and animal welfare responsibility within commercial activities. Successfully project managed through the Govt/RDPE Dairy Fund projects through 2014/15, DCD becoming the first DPO (Dairy Producer Organisation) in the UK, working through Dairy Futures potential, new contract options and in developing a milk forecast predictor tool for members use.Direct Milk DPO has successfully been launched as a successor to DCD for those farmers that now supply Muller and yet again, this move has secured 99.9% support of the membership.
