Deputy Fire Chief
CurrentAs Deputy Fire Chief, I participate in all aspects of the administration and planning of acomprehensive fire prevention, firefighting, and rescue program at the Lockheed Martin Plant 6. Responsible for overall direction of the activities of the training, technical services, andoperations programs. Reviews plans, schedules, and other management activities of subordinate assistant chiefs, ensuring that all programs are fully functional and operating at maximum efficiency andeffectiveness. As necessary, reassigns employees to balance staffing of subordinate programs andotherwise ensures that all programs are assigned appropriately to accomplish the mission. Responsible for reviewing and following operating instructions, policies, strategy, tactics, and procedures for fire suppression and prevention to ensure compliance with Statement of Work, current and new national consensus standards, National Fire Codes, uniform building codes, Code of Federal Regulations, Occupational Safety and Health Administration policies and procedures, and environmental laws and regulations as they apply to fire protection. Reviews new regulations or procedures and disseminates information to subordinates, assuring that such procedures are implemented; assures that station logs and other records pertinent to reports, activities, drills, inspections, responses, fires, etc., are maintainedproperly and submitted within prescribed time limits utilizing the Fire & Emergency ServicesInformation Management System (FES-IMS) or Emergency Reporting when required. Recommends changes to established standards of performance, operations, workforce, and equipment required to meet the variables associated with the assessments of the various functions of the Centerra Fire Department. Evaluates the effectiveness and efficiency of the Centerra Fire Protection program andrecommends changes to the Fire Chief.
