B.Eng Mechatronic Engineering2010 – 2014 Dublin City UniversityMy career path since my time in college has led me into the Automation and controls environment. My first Job was as a maintenance engineer in C&D foods. This gave me an appetite to learn about design of automated systems and machines. I followed the path of commissioning, automation and control system design after leaving C&D foods in 2016 and now hold a position at XOCEAN ltd as a control systems engineer. As I have played Gaelic football from a young age I feel working as a team is one of my strong points. In many different modules in university there has been team based projects to complete. From these I have seen how I can take a leadership role to ensure the work was complete to the best of our abilities and on time. I do accept constructive criticism well which I feel is vital to allow teamwork to be efficient. However I like to plan ahead, to ensure time is not wasted in trying to fix mistakes later on in work. I also find it very fulfilling to see a piece of my work complete and with a good solution to a problem. From growing up on the farm, I like to see myself as a hard worker, or someone that can grind out results. I enjoy working on physical projects where there is a piece of hardware doing the job it needs to do, as after the job is complete I like there to be something I can look at and see what I have achieved.
