At Nalcor I am responsible for safe, daily operations of the 24 hour, 7 day-a-week Power Desk. This includes:- Implementing schedules of daily energy transactions that includes 2-4 million megawatt-hours of energy per year. - Developing scheduling protocols and process systems to ensure a high degree of accuracy is maintained. - Interfacing with power generating plants, external markets, transmission providers and industry counterparties to deliver Nalcor's energy to core markets including the NYISO, ISO-NE, PJM, HQT and NBSO. - Ensure the transactions are delivered as scheduled, or take appropriate mitigation measures as required, in the event of interruptions or curtailments.

Service Canada Newfoundland developed a very effective organization aimed to improve employee satisfaction named Your Mandate for Greater Involvement (YMAGIN). After the first month of my work term I was selected to role the initiative out across Atlantic Canada. Acted in a supporting role for the federal government's YMAGIN initiative. Reported directly to the Champion.Fostered the transition from YMAGIN Newfoundland to YMAGIN Atlantic by travelling to meet with other managers and employees. Doubled membership in 3 months. Delivered weekly presentations to all YMAGIN members updating the organizations position and goals for the week ahead.Organized and attended YMAGIN's first annual Atlantic Conference in Nova Scotia. Used a variety of techniques to host daily meetings such as; in person, via teleconference, and via videoconference.
