Post-primary school PE and English teacher. Head Coach at Dolphin Swimming Club, Cork City and overall director of swimming and performance pathway and development.Chairman of the Swim Ireland Munster Regional Performance Pathway Committee and a member of the National Performance Advisory Group for Swim Ireland.I returned to University in 2016 to study for my bachelor's degree in Sports Studies and Physical Education with English. The close relationship between my studies and my full-time role as a sports coach has served to complement both areas really well, both in terms of working with young people and the deeper learning of sport and health.Previously, I have over 17 years experience in the electrical industry working in areas such as domestic and commercial but mainly industrial installations, data networking and communications, fire detection and intruder alert systems, ATEX areas, IS and Non-IS control panel builds, machinery safety & control, mechanical upgrades, maintenance and safety automation and control, managing and overseeing projects and labour from risk and site assessment right through to completion.I have studied Mechatronics and Electrical Engineering at Sligo IT (PT) which consisted of various aspects of electrical engineering processes such as automation, robotics, mechanical/electrical systems and hi-tech data communications technology.Apart from my day job at Pilz Ireland, I had also been involved in the music scene for over 25 years up until 2016 both as a club & radio DJ and event promoter, setting up Baxtard Promotions in 2009 with the aim of showcasing local and national DJs and producers alongside more established international acts.I had been running spin-off events along with these while remaining very active in the DJ circuit around Ireland and abroad. Family and work commitments have taken priority in recent years but the experience I have gained in this aspect of my life has been really important in shaping my work ethic now.
