Being a part of a start up from the early days through growth stages, sale of the business to more growth and exciting new initiatives etc. has taught me a great deal. A benefit of being in the very early stages of a startup is it exposes you to learning/leading areas that at the time did not match up with your experience level. I have been fortunate to have gained significant experience in field product sales both domestically and internationally, leading field operations as chief operating officer for a number of years to what I do now which is a primary focus on sales pipeline building in our core markets.
