-Officer Selection Officer for Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo, and Ventura County-Recruiting highly qualified candidates for Law, Aviation, and Ground Officer programs and preparing them for the challenges of Officer Candidate School.-Responsible for supervising and coordinating all Marine Corps Officer Selection covering: University of California Santa Barbara, California Polytechnic State University, Pepperdine University, California State University Channel Islands, and California Lutheran University.

-Advise and assist the Commanding Officer and Operations Officer on all aspects ofcommunications planning in support of the Battalion's mission.-Plan the Battalion's garrison communications architecture and maintain garrisonequipment in support of the Battalion's day to day requirements.-Conduct planning, and supervise the installation, operation, and maintenance ofcommunication architecture in support of the Battalion's exercises and deployments.-Ensure accountability, and maintenance of equipment belonging to the Communications Platoon to the Supply Officer and the Commanding Officer as needed.

-Ensure the Marines of H&S Company maintain a high level of deployment and operationalreadiness. Provide equipment and personnel to meet operational requirements in support of unitdeployments, contingency operations, and individual augments.-Manage all administrative and discipline issues of H&S Company while ensuring thehealth, morale, and welfare of the Marines.-Ensure accountability, and maintenance of equipment belonging to the H&S Company to the Supply Officer and the Commanding Officer as needed.-Serve as Battalion Command Financial Specialist and Classified Material Control Center Representative

-Serve as 2d Marine Expeditionary Brigade (MEB) Communications Representative for all planningefforts within 2d MEB Command Element (CE) staff, including, Operational Planning Teams,Operations Orders, Fragmentary Orders, and Standard Operating Procedures.-Assist in the planning and coordination of communications support for all deliberate 2dMEB exercises and operations.-Coordinate with Major Subordinate Commands (MSCs) and 8th Communications Battalion inorder to facilitate communications planning and support efforts.-Assist in the synchronization of all operational and technical planning efforts withthe priorities of the 2d MEB Assistant Chief of Staff (AC/S) G-6.-Develop and brief recommended courses of action pertaining to operationalcommunications requirements to 2d MEB AC/S G-6.-Assist AC/S G-6 in oversight of the day-to-day operations of the Commicatioins section andimplementation of Command, Control, Communications, and Computers plans-Perform other tasks as directed by the AC/S G-6.

-Supervise the enforcement of IT policies, standards compliance, and accreditationdocumentation for accessing services on all network IT assets within 2d Marine Logistics Group (MLG).-Coordinate with 2d MLG Subordinate Elements, Marine Corps Installations-East (MITSCEast),adjacent, and higher for compliance with operational directives and advisories.-Manage Marine Corps Enterprise Network (MCEN) contractor support for 2d MLG; enablecoordination efforts and research emerging technologies in support of command and control.-Assist in the planning, development, and supervision of data communications systems,infrastructure, and architecture for 2d MLG.-Mentor, develop, and train the Marines of the Network Operations Section.-Serve as the Responsible Officer for the Headquarters Regiment Base PropertyAccount, and Communications section Consolidated Memorandum Receipt (CMR) Account.-Manage the 2d MLG wireless contract usage, payment, renewal, and renegotiation.-Oversee the 2d MLG Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) printer allocation and management.

-Attain 80% or better on all graded events pertaining to fundamental techniques andskills required for the planning and employment of Marine Corps communications systemsin a tactical environment.-Display a basic understanding of the duties and responsibilities of the communications officer to include preparation of communications plans and orders.-Demonstrate the ability to plan and supervise the installation, operation, andmaintenance of communication systems.-Continue the development of the skills and characteristics identified by the MarineCorps as essential to effective performance as a platoon commander or officer-in-charge.

-Serve as an Associate Professor of Naval Science.-Be prepared to assume the duties of the Executive Officer.-Serve as a role model, mentor, and advisor to all students in the Naval ROTC program.-Advise the Commanding Officer on all matters relating to the development and mentoringof future Navy and Marine officers.-Provide professional development and mentoring to Marine option midshipmen and Marine Elisted Commissioning Education Program students in preparation for Officer Candidate School and The Basic School.-Provide academic advising and counseling to assigned Navy and Marine Corps students.-Perform duties as Safety Officer, Operations Officer, Transportation Officer, and Training Officer.-Plan, execute, and supervise the unit's freshmen orientation and indoctrinationprogram.-Develop, plan, and implement a rigorous and progressive physical training program inorder to prepare Marine option midshipmen for future operational challenges.

- Maintain a sound working knowledge of tactical data communication requirements impacting Combat Logistics Regiment -25 (CLR-25) staff sections and subordinate units.- Provide operational guidance, direction and support to subordinate command data sections inpreparation for exercises and deployments. - Provide technical expertise and guidance in the deployment of policies and operation orders governing the operation of tactical data communication systems within CLR-25. - Identify data communication capability deficiencies and provide recommended solutions. - Assist with all data equipment transfers and temp loans both internal and external to CLR-25. - Provide assistance to the Communications Officer and Communications Chief in the daily, weekly, monthly, and as required tasks arise.
