As a senior engineer pipeline inspector, I conduct investigations in accordance to Code of Federal Regulation Parts 190-192 and 195 in order to adequately determine pipeline operator compliance issues. I gather data and information related to inspections and incidents to determine proper course of action (Request for Specific Information, Warning Letter, Notice of Probable Violation, etc…). Discussing my findings with fellow inspectors is routine to ensure consistency of course of actions. I rotate on-call status responding to sites when necessary and investigate natural gas and hazardous liquid releases. When incidents meet NRC reportable criteria, I ensure that Central Region OPS is involved with communication transactions. As the lead inspector for the 2nd and 4th largest natural gas operators in Minnesota, I manage multiple inspection areas per year which involve overnight travel status in order to complete the inspections in a timely manner. Inspection schedules also accommodate PHMSA TQ classes, public presentations, and stakeholder meetings necessary to meet the standard requirements of a senior engineer pipeline inspector.

I'm currently working part-time at a local Target store while searching for work in the civil engineering field.

Began work experience as a project (client service) manager performing client service management and marketing duties. As a project manager, I delegate tasks to team members consisting of field personnel, design engineers, technicians, and administrative staff in order to complete projects from feasibility phase to construction phase. I develop trustworthy client relationships by maintaining attentiveness to clients’ engineering budgets and needs. Responsibilities also include managing project budgets, preparing contract proposals, reviewing plans and specifications, attending city council meetings and planning commission meetings, develop marketing strategies with fellow managers, and prepare proposals in response to RFP’s and RFQ’s.

Entered the company as a graduate engineer. Primary responsibilities were field (construction) observation, daily construction reports, monitoring contractors’ work progress, preparing pay estimates, attending to residents’ inquiries regarding project construction, and assisting the survey crew with construction staking. As capabilities grew during field experience, gradually became more focused on design of infrastructure using AutoCAD and Land Desktop. Eventually grew to be highly proficient in mapping and designing basemaps, streets, parking lots, utilities, ditches and preparing and organizing entire plan sets for various projects including State Aid projects. After obtaining licensure in early 2005, began to acquire project management experience by managing design, client and owner correspondence, feasibilities, specifications, cost estimations, permit applications, budgets, and construction progress.

Entered the City of Bloomington as an Engineering Aid. Primary responsibilities were field construction duties including preconstruction evaluation of street conditions, testing of base and sub base road materials, quality assurance and control of street and utility construction, quantifying materials for payment estimates, assisting in surveying and staking, monitoring contractor work progress, and attending to residential inquiries. Also assisted in AutoCAD drafting for various street reconstruction plans.

While attending the University of Minnesota, worked as an intern during peak construction months. Assisted in drafting plans from initial design phase to final design. Worked on survey crews obtaining topographic information and staking for street and utility construction. Performed field observation duties including preconstruction evaluation of streets, testing of base and sub base road materials, quality assurance and control of street and utility construction, quantifying materials for payment estimates, and attending to residential inquiries.
