As one half of the pledge education team, I am responsible for carrying out and leading the pledge process for new members to become active members of Delta Sigma Pi. This process includes working close with recruitment, helping the new members get familiar with history and standards of the fraternity, and helping them get integrated into the culture we have.

I got to work closely with alumni of the chapter that wanted to be involved! This included writing newsletters to them to keep them up to date with everything we were doing as well as inviting them to come and join us in College Station if we were putting on any events!

I had the opportunity to take guest interaction to another level being an ambassador! Guest interaction was one of, if not my favorite part of giving campus walking tours. As an ambassador, I will send out our campus walking tours as well as checking visitors in for their events that they have scheduled that day. I give them directions to their events along with answering any questions they may have. This process has made me very familiar with using Slate. I also will regularly answer visitor questions via email and phone calls. Being often the first point of contact visitors may have directly with the university, being an ambassador is an incredibly rewarding experience.

As an on campus tour guide at Texas A&M University, I had the fantastic opportunity to represent my university. I was able to present all of the great things Texas A&M has to offer in the span of a ~90 minute campus walking tours. I became proficient in managing groups, public speaking, and my presentation skills. I am to this day very lucky for the amazing cohort of coworkers I had the pleasure of working with. Working on the Howdy Crew continues to be an amazing decision of mine!

As a Director for the Howdy Crew I have the incredible opportunity to engage in back of house operations that make the Visitors Center operate on a day to day basis. Working closely with our full-time staff, our director team led trainings for our tour guides, put on retention events, helped each other do their jobs more efficiently, and helped create a positive office culture. My role specifically working as the Director for VIPs and Specialty Visits entailed training VIP tour guides, organizing schedules for potential VIP visitors, working very closely with my full time staff member, while also being proficient at giving a personalized VIP tour of Texas A&M University.

I had the privilege of providing a world class experience to thousands of guests every day! With each new day bringing something new, every day was an opportunity to learn and work closely together as a team with my coworkers. My experience at Disney furthered ability to speak to large groups while at the same time becoming more comfortable working in a faced paced environment. While I learned an abundance of things, whether it be job related or personal, I also had a great time doing it.
