Served as the Director of Sustainment (G4) during a time of tremendous change for US Army forces in Alaska.The release of the US Army Arctic Strategy in January, 2021 drove a renewed effort to prepare the forces in Alaska to be uniquely capable of operating in Arctic conditions. I was selected to lead the task force leading the implementation of the Arctic Strategy and reorganization of Army forces in Alaska tailored for Arctic operations. I worked with I Corps, US Army-PACIFIC, NORTHCOM, Army-North, Department of the Army G3-Force Management, and G4 to communicate the specific requirements across the Army Enterprise.Led sustainment planning for the first Combat Training Center rotation in Alaska. This new training event was an enormous sustainment effort bringing in over 1,000 personnel and letting nearly $20M of contracts.

Afghanistan

Led a team of 45 people comprised of US Military, Department of Defense Civilians, U.S. Contractors, coalition military, and international contractors. This dynamic, diverse team managed existing contracts and re-wrote contracts totaling over $2.5B providing supplies and services to Afghan National Army and Afghan National Police across Afghanistan. In this capacity I worked closely with contract representatives, Contracting Officers, and supported populations while meeting requirements and priorities of NATO Coalition commands. I advised senior Afghan officials on sustainment planning and institutional advancements and enabled advising teams with sustainment analysis.At the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic we aided the Afghan government procure critical, life-saving materiel and adjust operations to respond to the pandemic.Throughout the deployment every effort required detailed coordination within two NATO Headquarters and officers from 20+Nations, US Forces-Afghanistan, US Army-CENTRAL, US Department of Defense, and multiple audit agencies.

Full-time graduate student in a year-long program producing a Masters of Strategic Studies degree. Senior Service College is charged to produce military officers that can solve complex problems by fully understanding how the military fits within all the elements of national power. I had the opportunity to travel to Norway, Germany, and Romania and meet with members of their Defense Ministries and think tanks to understand different national perspectives on threats, strategy, and coalition operations. I conducted independent research on the Defense Organic Industrial Base, wrote an article on consolidating the DOIB under Joint Leadership and presented it to the Marine Corps Innovation Symposium.Topics of Study included: Diplomacy and Statecraft, National Security Structure, Joint Warfare, Leadership and Ethics, and Economics & National Power

As the POM Integration lead for Sustainment Maintenance Division in the Army G4 my role was to build the Program Objective Memorandum (POM) for sustainment and depot-level maintenance (DMx). In addition to the POM looking 2-7 years out, I worked both current and budget year actions as funding and budget realities changed. All these actions required extensive communication and coordination across sections of the Army staff, Army secretariat, Army Materiel Command, Life-Cycle Management Commands, and congressional staffers. I re-wrote the SOP for developing and submitting DMx requirements working with multiple agencies and commands to have a comprehensive policy that met needs of all involved.

Fort Bragg, Nc

Commanded an Army Combat Sustain Support Battalion comprised of six subordinate formations and 750 soldiers on Fort Bragg, North Carolina.Each company had a Prepare-to-Deploy Order to support either overseas or Homeland Defense missions and deploy within 24 hours. Maintaining that high level of readiness requires disciplined leadership focus to give subordinate leaders the correct priorities and align resources appropriately.While on Fort Bragg the battalion provided comprehensive support to all Corps units on Fort Bragg (over 13K personnel) and reinforcing support to the 82nd Airborne Division and Special Forces units.I supervised nine direct reports and evaluated the performance and potential for future service of over 50 officers.

Served as the planner for 1st Theater Sustainment Command in Camp Arifjan, Kuwait. I worked with Army-CENTRAL planners to review and rewrite the support plans for three CENTCOM contingency plans at the Secret and Top Secret levels. Synchronization required detailed coordination with all service components in US CENTCOM and the US Embassy in Iraq.Briefed the analysis and updates to Army-CENTRAL and CENTCOM leaders.

Fort Carson, Colorado, United States

Operations officer for a Sustainment Brigade on Fort Carson, Colorado and Kandahar Airfield, Afghanistan.While on Fort Carson I synchronized all current operations in the brigade consisting of two battalions and 11 companies. Additionally, I wrote the training guidance for the brigade to ensure each formation was prepared for worldwide deployment.When deployed to Kandahar Airfield for 12 months we gained two additional battalions supporting operations across South and West Afghanistan. Oversaw the transition of four battalion headquarters and the deployment/redeployment of 31 company formations.
